Kanor Driving School, Inc. (“Kanor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information when you:

• Visit kanor.net or another website that links to this Privacy Policy;

• Contact Kanor by telephone, email, text message, online form, or social media;

• Register for driving lessons, driver education, traffic school, DMV test services, or another Kanor service;

• Create or use a student account or scheduling portal;

• Make a payment;

• Visit our office;

• Communicate with our employees or driving instructors; or

• Otherwise interact with Kanor.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected online and offline. It does not apply to independently operated third-party websites or services that maintain their own privacy policies.

1. Personal Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Kanor and which services you request.

A. Contact and identifying information

We may collect:

• Your name;

• Mailing, residential, pickup, and drop-off addresses;

• Email address;

• Telephone number;

• Date of birth or age;

• Preferred language;

• Parent, guardian, or emergency-contact information;

• Signature; and

• Other identifiers you provide to us.

B. Student, licensing, and enrollment information

When you register for or receive our services, we may collect:

• Learner’s permit or driver’s license information;

• Permit or license expiration dates;

• Driver education and behind-the-wheel training records;

• Enrollment dates and program information;

• Appointment and attendance history;

• Instructor assignments;

• Lesson notes and progress information;

• Certificates issued or requested;

• DMV-test information;

• Traffic citation, court, completion-deadline, or eligibility information when relevant to traffic-school services;

• Course progress, examination results, and completion records; and

• Information necessary to comply with California Department of Motor Vehicles, court, insurance, safety, or recordkeeping requirements.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers or other information we have not specifically requested.

C. Scheduling and location information

We may collect:

• Requested lesson dates and times;

• Pickup and drop-off locations;

• Appointment changes, cancellations, and no-show records;

• Instructor availability and assignment information; and

• Location-related information that you voluntarily provide for transportation, scheduling, safety, or service-delivery purposes.

We do not use student pickup locations for advertising.

D. Health and safety information

Because driving instruction involves public-road safety, you may be asked to disclose information about a medical condition, disability, medication, restriction, accommodation, or other circumstance that could affect your ability to drive safely or participate in a lesson.

We request that you provide only information reasonably necessary for safety, accommodation, or legal compliance. Health and safety information is not used for advertising.

E. Payment and transaction information

When you purchase a service, we may collect:

• Services or packages purchased;

• Transaction amount;

• Payment date and status;

• Billing address;

• Refund, credit, chargeback, or transfer information;

• Limited payment-card information, such as the card type and last four digits; and

• Records needed for accounting, taxation, fraud prevention, and dispute resolution.

Online payments may be processed directly by a third-party payment processor. Kanor generally does not receive or retain the complete payment-card number or security code processed by that provider.

When an account is created for you, we may collect or maintain:

• Scheduling preferences;

• Course or lesson history; and

• Communications and requests associated with the account.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for notifying Kanor if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization.

• Telephone-call notes;

• Customer-service requests;

• Complaints and dispute records;

When you visit our website, we and our technology providers may automatically collect:

3. Sensitive Personal Information

Certain information handled by Kanor may be considered sensitive personal information under applicable law, including government-issued identification information, account credentials, precise location information, payment information, and health-related information.

Kanor uses sensitive personal information only when reasonably necessary to:

Kanor does not use health information, permit information, driver’s license information, or student pickup addresses to create advertising profiles.

A. Kanor employees and instructors

Information may be provided to authorized employees and instructors who need it to schedule, administer, or conduct services. For example, an instructor may receive a student’s name, telephone number, pickup address, appointment information, permit status, and relevant safety instructions.

Employees and instructors are expected to use this information only for authorized Kanor business.

B. Service providers

We may disclose information to companies that perform services for us, including:

• Website hosting and maintenance;

• Student-account and scheduling systems;

• Driver-education and traffic-school platforms;

• Payment processing;

• Email and text-message delivery;

• Cloud storage;

• Customer support;

• Accounting and professional services;

• Cybersecurity, fraud prevention, and technical support; and

• Document and record management.

These providers may process information only as permitted by their agreements with Kanor and applicable law.

Kanor’s website currently directs students to external services, including tds.ms for in-car lesson accounts and cacourseprovider.com for driver-education and traffic-school services. Information submitted directly to those services is also governed by their respective privacy policies and terms.

C. Government agencies, courts, and regulatory authorities

We may disclose information to the California DMV, courts, law-enforcement agencies, regulators, or other government authorities when necessary to:

• Report or verify traffic-school completion;

• Document driver education or behind-the-wheel training;

• Comply with licensing and recordkeeping requirements;

• Respond to a subpoena, court order, warrant, or lawful request;

• Report an accident or safety incident; or

• Protect legal rights and public safety.

D. Payment networks and financial institutions

Payment information may be disclosed to payment processors, banks, card networks, fraud-prevention providers, and related entities to process transactions, prevent fraud, handle chargebacks, or resolve payment disputes.

E. Analytics and advertising providers

Subject to cookie preferences and applicable law, analytics and advertising providers may collect device identifiers, browsing activity, approximate location, and interaction or conversion information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

These providers may use the information to measure website performance, attribute advertising results, limit repeated advertisements, and deliver or evaluate advertising.

Kanor does not sell customer names, telephone numbers, email addresses, student records, permit information, driver’s license information, health information, or customer contact lists for money.

However, some analytics or advertising technologies may allow advertising providers to collect online identifiers and browsing activity. Under certain privacy laws, this type of activity may be defined as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or a “sale,” even when no money is exchanged.

You can control nonessential cookies through the cookie-preference tool available on our website. Where required by applicable law, you may also request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information by contacting us using the information provided below.

Kanor does not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 without legally required authorization.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a valid Global Privacy Control or similar legally recognized opt-out preference signal, Kanor will treat a recognized signal as an opt-out request for the browser or device sending that signal.

These operational messages are part of administering your services. Stopping them may prevent us from delivering important appointment or account information.

We may send promotional emails or text messages when permitted by law. You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in the message. You may opt out of promotional texts by replying STOP or following the instructions provided in the message.

Consent to receive promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing Kanor services. Message and data rates may apply.

Opting out of promotional communications does not prevent us from sending nonpromotional messages needed to administer an existing transaction, appointment, account, or legal obligation.

9. Information Concerning Minors

Kanor provides certain services to teenage students. A parent, guardian, or other authorized adult may register, purchase services for, communicate on behalf of, or provide information concerning a minor student.

Our website and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online directly from a child under 13 without legally required parental consent.

A person under 13 should not create an account, submit a form, or provide personal information directly through our website. A parent or guardian needing services for a child should contact Kanor directly.

If we learn that personal information was collected directly online from a child under 13 in a manner not permitted by law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Parents and guardians may contact us regarding personal information associated with a minor student, subject to identity, authority, legal, and recordkeeping requirements.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, administer accounts, maintain business and student records, resolve disputes, comply with legal requirements, and protect Kanor’s rights.

Retention periods depend on the type of information:

• Student, enrollment, lesson, and completion records may be retained for the duration of the program and afterward as required or reasonably necessary for DMV, court, licensing, insurance, contractual, safety, or legal purposes.

• Payment and transaction records may be retained for accounting, taxation, chargeback, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements.

• Account information may be retained while the account or program remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.

• Communications and complaint records may be retained as needed to administer services, document decisions, handle disputes, or protect legal rights.

• Website logs and cookie information are retained according to our settings, security needs, and the practices of the applicable technology provider.

• Health and safety information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for safety, accommodation, incident management, or legal requirements.

Information may be retained longer when necessary because of a legal hold, investigation, pending dispute, accident, insurance claim, chargeback, subpoena, court order, or other legal obligation.

When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

No website, email system, wireless transmission, database, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid sending highly sensitive information through ordinary email, text message, or an unencrypted contact form unless Kanor specifically requests it through an appropriate method.

If you believe your Kanor account or personal information may have been compromised, contact us promptly.

Please describe your request clearly and identify the information or account involved. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and authority. We will use verification information only to process and document the request.

For requests concerning a minor, we may verify the identity and authority of the parent or guardian.

An authorized agent may submit a request when permitted by law. We may require proof that the agent is authorized and may contact the consumer directly to verify the request.

We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right. However, deleting information or withdrawing permission may affect our ability to provide services that require that information.

We do not currently offer financial incentives or different prices in exchange for personal information.

13. Third-Party Websites and Services

Our website contains links to independently operated websites and services, including student portals, course providers, social-media platforms, payment services, maps, and other resources.

Kanor does not control the privacy, security, availability, accuracy, or content of independently operated third-party services. Your interaction with those services is governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

A link from our website does not mean Kanor is responsible for the third party’s privacy or security practices.

14. Social Media

When you interact with Kanor through Facebook, Instagram, Yelp, X, or another social-media or review platform, the platform may collect and process information according to its own privacy policy.

Information you post publicly may be visible to Kanor and other users. Do not publicly post permit numbers, driver’s license information, account credentials, payment information, medical information, pickup addresses, or other sensitive information.

15. Legal Disclosures and Protection of Rights

We may collect, preserve, use, or disclose personal information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:

• Comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or government request;

• Enforce our agreements and policies;

Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to restrict rights that cannot legally be restricted.

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, vendors, business practices, or legal obligations.
